I am fascinated with the use of technology within the processes and systems of the built environment to improve efficiency and delight in development and user experience. Cities are centers of innovation, culture, and economy with unparalleled vitality; I am interested in how scalable products and efficient services can be deployed in them to maximally respond to the needs of a city’s users. I aspire to deploy my programming skills, design intuition, and entrepreneurial approach to positively impact cities in product, design, and technology roles.

Tattoo Design

This is a tattoo design inspired by my mom and the family that she built. I incorporated our family name (吳) and three apples to represent each of her children.

Why Cities?

Because cities are where humans are best able to use our collective intelligence to learn more about ourselves and the world, and create systems and items that make life better. Learning to live in cities is liberating-- people are pushed to develop individuality and become less self-conscious, allowing them to achieve their ful potential. Any dreams or aspirations can be reached with the human and physical resources provided by urban ecosystems. Throughout history, cities have been where we have been able to develop the institutions and inventions that help us make sense of and bring order to life, subsequently allowing our purpose as humans to evolve past just surviving and reproducing. Therefore, studying cities and their systems, and thinking about how we can improve them, directs us towards creating environments that allow us to live and create optimally as humans.
